Hearing Aids

We can collect hearing aids and pass these on to the Lions Hearing Aid programme.

Lions Clubs are collecting unwanted, or broken, analogue and digital hearing aids and audiological equipment from individuals, audiologists, hearing retail outlets, and hospitals. Since May 2015, Lions have collected almost 90,000 hearing aids and ancillary items.

Dr Michael Nolan formerly of the Starkey Hearing Foundation receives donations for sorting and refurbishment. Adults and children with hearing impairment whose lives have been transformed after receiving recycled hearing equipment live in countries including: Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Senegal, Gambia, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Lesotho, Rwanda, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Kenya, Ethiopia, Zanzibar, Madagascar, Ukraine, India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, China, Philippines and Papua New Guinea.

Spectacle Collection

One of Bletchley Lions ongoing community service projects is the collection of used spectacles for distribution to third world countries.  Recently we have passed to our fellow Lions at the Lions Club of Chichester more than a 1200 pairs.

 A whole network of Lions clubs participate in collections nationwide and pass them to Chichester.  They have made a special project of this work for many years and now run a highly efficient collection and distribution service.

 

The Lions Club of Bletchley  currently has collection boxes  at the following places:-
